DAY 10 – AUGUST 11th – DESTINATION: YORK

Today was a very wet day. However, it didn’t start out that way. We got up and walked the streets of York… did some shopping. ☺ We went to a neat outdoor market and saw a little bit of the Jvork museum shop (Viking York). We walked back to Calvary York to our studio, got dry, charged the camera, etc. I fell asleep for a little while, and we headed back out. We went over to the Bible College’s coffee shop that actually sits within a tower IN the wall!!! VERY COOL! ☺ Everyone was of course very kind, and it was so neat being there. Felt like home, you know? Saw the castle ruins, and tried to stay dry as the heavens decided to open up and pour water on us!!! Before we headed back to our room, we ventured into York Minster cathedral. Very pretty. We sat in to listen to the Evensong… what we thought was just a little bit of choral music. Then as we read about it while sitting in the pews, we realized we would be participating in a Catholic worship service… being that we are Christians and not Catholic, neither of us felt right about staying. The service hadn’t started yet, so we discretely left before anyone noticed! ☺ We walked back to our place via the wall. What a cool experience! ☺ We went back to the “house” to figure out a few more things, start laundry, and then went back out to a cute place called “The Hole in the Wall” for some dinner. Now we are back in our place, folding laundry, and getting ready to head back to Glasgow tomorrow.

oh, and… HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM (D)!!! ☺
